Why this Web Site?

I can remember my first day of teaching in 1991. The fear! The loss! The confusion! And, no one to turn to for help! I felt the same way on my first day as an assistant principal. My goal is to help others, teachers and administrators, avoid that same fate. This web site is one of the ways I hope to share ideas and information in five keys areas:

    • Organizational Structure
    • Staff
    • Curriculum
    • Instructional Practices
    • Parent/Community Involvement

The information provided is based on strategies I have learned as a teacherof learning disabled students, GATE students and children from all racial and economic backgrounds, as well as three years as an elementry assistant principla. I don't profess to have all the answers, but hopefully I can prevent the re-invention of the wheel, or the pitfalls of being new to this ever changing profession as an educator.

No institution can survive if it needs geniuses or supermen to manage it.

It must be organized to get along under a leadership of average human beings.
